Baxter has been summarily removed from the office of United States district attorney for thia district by order of the president. Mr. Baxter refuses to confirm or deny- the statement. Salmon, and Manager Thomas M. Casey, under indictment in connection with the failure of the Salmon &Salmou Bank of this city. Doctor George Y. Salmon, under indictment {n the same matter, with- drew hie application for a change of venue and his trial will be heid in the Henry County Cireult Court. Of the six indictments against Ma- jor Salmon, two were sent to Polk County, two to Bates County, one to Benton County and one to Pettis County. Two of the five indictments against Frank M. Salmon were transferred to the Pettis County Circuit Court, and oneeach to Polk, Benton and Bates counties, ‘Thirteen indictments + tand against Thomas M. Casey.
