Th pursuance of See. 54 of Articled, xz NEWJDIVORCE LAW ASKED. Judges of Missouri Recommend More Rigid Provisions. St. Louis, Dec. 28,—A radical amendment to the present divorce law of Missouri has been recommend- ed to the state legislature by the judges of the state, who met at the St. Louis court house Friday. The principal change advocated is that a divorce should be made pro- visional when granted, and become permanent at the expiration of one year, if the conduct of the applicant has been good during that interval. Another provision advocated is that the defendant be not allowed to marry until three years have elapsed after the divorce has been granted; that in cases where no defense is made the defendant be allowed to make reply and contest the case at any time during the year of proba- tion. By this innovation the judges hope to do away with hasty remarriages after divorces have been granted, and to prevent collusion on the part of persons who seek to sever the legal bonds of marriage for ulterior pur- poses, Only last week a society woman of wealth secured an uncontested di- vorce from her husband and an hour later wedded another. Should the legislature embody the suggestion of the judges in the divorce law, three years would have to elapse before a successful plaintiff could assume new marital relations. The year of probation would also be a bar to immediate mari iage and do away with perplexing situations | should a defendant secure new evi- dence which would justify the trial judge in setting aside the divorce de- cree. Thestate judiciary will also request. the legislature to adopt some meas- ure to provide for the disposition of criminal cases where the defendant is under sentence pending an appeal and must answer to a second indict- ment. Kidney trouble preys upon the mind, dis- courages and lessens ambition; beauty, vigor and cheerfulness soon disappear when the kid- neys are out of order “or diseased. Kidney trouble has become so prevalent that it is not uncommon for a child to be born » afflicted with weak kid- neys. Ifthe child urin- . ates too often, if the urine scalds the flesh or if, when the child reaches an age when it should be able to control the passage, it is yet afflicted with bed-wetting, depend upon it. the cause of the difficulty is kidney trouble, and the first step should be towards the tréatment of these important organs. This unpleasant trouble is due to a diseased condition of the kidneys and bladder and ‘not to a habit as most people suppose.
