Tt seems Si fever has sith deadly effect upon the members of the Daly unily. Last week three ofthe children died, the last beir gon, who died on Saturday and Mrs. Daly, the mother, had to lay the body out, as she was too poor to] pave anyone to assist her. Finally was able to tell some of the neigh irlet come ra she bors, and Ora Walton and Mr. Vet- fers came to her assistance. and with otherneighbors’ aideveryt hing possi- bly is being done for the Daly family now. Hoosiers Objected to Methods of Lodge Initiation. Kokomo, Ind., March 11.—There were interesting times in Goatdom here this week. There were shooting ‘affrays at two initiations. At one lodge Thomas Zell, brother of town- ship trustee Amos Zell. was made believe that he must jump into a lake of burning lava. The room was dark and the candidate was partially stripped and fettered. Zell,in terror, broke the cords binding his arms, drew a revolver and commenced shooting. He knocked several of the degree staffs down with his fist, but if any of the bullets found lodg- ment the fact is kept seeret. The lodge members fled in all directions, and the session was adjourned with- out formality. Zell was given all serts of “extras’’ in his initiation, but he would not stand forit. Find- ing himself alone in the darkness, Zell hunted up his clothes as best the could and went home, declaring the initiation would remain unfinished, as he had enough of it. A few even- ingsago M.L. Haney was shot in the shoulder by mistake at an initi- ation of the lodge of Pathfinders. A Widow's Love Affair _Receives a setback, if she has offen- sive breath through constipation, billiousness, or stomach troubles, but Dr. King’s New Life Pills always cure those troubles; clean the sys- tem, sweeten the breath, banish headache; best in the world for liver, kidney and bowels. Kellog, a young business man of Appleton City, eloped with Miss Nellie Keeble, a young lady from near Butler. Mo. Messages from Brownington, Mo, state that the couple left a team in that town and purchased a ticket for Memphis, Tenn., today. The team belongs to an Appleton City minister. Lellog deserted his wife, and Mrs. Keeble, mother of the missing girl, threatens to kill him at first oppor- tunity. Vigorous efforts are being made by the authorities to appre- hend the couple. Humors Come to the surface in the spring as in no other season. It’s a pity they don’t run themselves all off that way: but in spite of pimples and other eruptions, they mostly remain in the system. That’s bad. Hood’s Sarsaparilla removes them and cures all the painful and_ disfig-| uring troubles they cause.
