On hes te turn home she expects to visit her father in California Mrs. Nancy Nash, a resident of Butler since 1866, died at her home on East Dakota street Monday, at the ripe old age of eighty-six years. Mr. and Mrs. Eli Henderson will go to Jefferson City Saturday. Mr. Henderson will be back Tuesday, but bis wife will probably remain a month or six weeks visiting relatives and recuperating her health, which has not been good for some time. Deputy Sheriff Joe Graves, had business at the Hill Tuesday, and in consequence thereof missed the ball game, and the “bloomers.” Joe tried to hire a substitute to go to the Hill but Dike positivly refused as he had an engagement to go fish- ing at the lake. Charley Fisk will go to the front with his new band. His band has been assigned to the Sixth regiment. Charley isa splendid musican and there will be a “hot time” serenade when his band leads the boys into battle. It is now reported that Col. Wm. J. Bryan’s Nebraska Regiment will goto Jacksonville, Florida, and be assigned to the Ninth Army Oorps, under the command of General Fitz hugh Lee. Itis believed Lee will not be called South until he is order- ed to join in the attack on Havana. —Clinton Democrat. Kansas City Times, 25.—Captain Claude Clark, who is in command of the Jefferson City company, is said to be one of the most popular Mis- souri officers in camp. It is the old story of “a good fellow here anda gocd fellow there.” The young cap tain wiil prove his mettle, moreover, and be an honor to his state, if the Missouri troops ever see action.
