City oF Mexico, Feb. 28.—The gen- eral impression here in well informed circles is that the revolution in Nicara- gua is part of a general clerical plot for overthrowing the liberal adminis- tration throughout Central America. Clericals have the support of the mon- eyed classes and masses. They desire to prevent the United States gaining a stronghold in Nicaraguan affairs and to crush out the tendency observable to request American protectorate, es- pecially in Guatemala. Excited priests are stimulating the revolution and have secured funds for it. WIL L CLEVELAND PRESIDE. The President Will Assist the Home sion Board to Clear Off Its Debts. Clarke, V. P. Bankers Life Ass’n., 205 Sheidley Bldg, K. C. Mo, Dear Judge:— I am in receipt of yours of May 23 and the proposition you make there is very wide of the proposition I un- derstood you to be contending for. What I understood you to want wae a clause in your policy providing for the payment of half the policy in the event of total disability, but the prop- osition you make now is in the event of total disability, at the request of the policy-holder, to pay half in ab- solute discharge of the policy. Such !a condition as that in your policy ix beneficent and wise. Beneficent in that it gives to the policy holder aid | in his extremest need, and wise in | that it enables the company to settle | an approaching total loss at fifty per | cent. Ithink such a condition as | that in your policy is a wise provision | and as quoted by you in your letter, I could urge no objection to it what- ever. Ido not regard this as an ac- cident provision at all; it may arise from sickness, may come from old ‘IN paralysis, a confirmed case of rheu- {| matisin, crit may arise from an acci- first-class Buggies, and horses, I can say j dent, and it is not payinganaccident | claim to make such a settlement.
