If this is the case, with the insurgent force now in this vicinity, it may be judged that matters will be worse if the Spanish commanders are unable to check the advance westward of the second Cuban army. He passed under the name of Thomas Wilson, dressed in rags and claimed to be a poor intruder driven from the Osage nation, but before the officers were ready to take him he disappeared, as he had done a dozen times before but was traced to Arkansas last week. Three times during the last six months Doolin, through his attor- ney, has attempted to negotiate with Marshal Nix, promising to surren. der if he would be tried only on mild charges and given a light sen- tence, but Nix always answered that jhe had killed three of his best depu- ties, and for that he would see him | hanged and never rest until he did. Five thousand dollars reward was offered for his capture, which will go to Tilghman and his assistants. A Household Treasure. D. W. Fuller, of Canajoharie, N.
