And while other parties in Butler handling hardware, have threatened the wholesale hardware house for selling us goods, claiming we are demoralizing the prices on hardware by selling it at almost cost to draw trade for grocery business, we will say to the farmers, that we are not only selling hardware at almost cost to draw the trade for our groceries, but we are also selling groceries at almost cost to draw trade for our hardware. To tell you the truth, we are selling everything we carry at the lowest possible price in order to draw trade to our store, for any- thing we carry in stock. We have just gotten in over one hundred of the finest vase and ban quet lamps ever seen in this county, and we are selling them at just half what we sold the common lamps for | last year. We have sold from 5 to 6 lamps every day since we got | them in, and at that rate they will | not last long; so we advise all parties wanting a nica lamp for a little money, to come before they are ali picked over, for we cannot duplicate these prices again this year, as we contracted for these lamps from the factory last spring before they were made. In order to further reduce our stock of decorated porcelain dinner sets we will again give 20¢ off on the dollar until the 15th of November, as we received notice that our holiday goods would not be here before that time. Now, this will be the last re- | duction of this kind we can possibly | make you this year, so if you can use jaset, buy itnow. And we want to | Say again in regard to our tinware, | that we are seliing more tinware than | any house in Butler, and if you want the best goods at the lowest price, be sure to come to us. Our salt is the best steamed, warranted not to hard- en; all new, clean barrels, dry and in our warehouse. We want to say in justification to ourselves, that in some way our coffee firm sent usa barrel of coffee that was not our Java Blend, and the clerks opened and sold part of it before we noticed the mis- take, and while we have not had any complaints of it, still we know it is not first class and if any of our cus- tomers have it on hands please re- turn it to us and get the best in it’s place, and we will promise to be more watchfulin the future, for this brand of coffee we propose to keep | up to the top standard. We are highly pleased with our {trade and the way the people of Bates county are treating us, and we promise you to do everything im our power to furnish you the best goods at the lowest priees, and give you the highest possible price we can for j your produce.
