Everything points to a long campaign against the Sioux, who are now inflamed at the presence of the colored troopers of the ninth cavalry, and whoare grow- ing more fanatical every day over the religious dances. The situation jis so grave thatold Indian fighters and scouts refuse to express an opinion as to the final outcome of this trouble. This is certain, that if the Sioux on Pine Ridge were to take a notion to attack the troops now in camp here there would not be a soldier, civilian, woman cr child left to tell the story of the on- slaught. There are 1,500 heavily armed warriors within aradius of 40 miles of the agency and the available force to place in the field would not amount to 500 and 100 are Indian LEADING IMPORTERS OF Diamonds, Watches and Jeweiry, LOWEST PRICES. 100 Visiting Cards —_—-AN——— Engraved Copperplats, $1.50. | 100 Visiting Cards Ut er From Plate, as te what will make JILVER PLATED WAE, TABLE CUTLERY, WEDDIN' AND rr Rings. © 815 Main Street.
