Nyhart is the name ot a flourishing little town, just laid off, about seven miles west of this city on the Empo- tia railroad. The railroad company has builf substantial stock pens, put in a switch and we understand are furnishing stock cars to Kansas City $2 less than the L. & S. Our sanctum was graced Monday evening with the presence of Miss Lula Everingham and friend Miss Mamie Young, of Lexington, Mo. C. B. McFarland, who went to Texas for his health a short time ago, was suddenly called home last week by a telegram intorming him of the serious illness of bis baby. His many friends will be glad to learn that although his stay in the Lone Star state was trief, yet it did him good, and his health was greatly benefitted. He not only gained tast in health, but weight also, weighing 20 pounds heavier than for years. We are also pleased to state his child 1s now improving. The building of the iron block, on the ground formerly occupied by the Butler carriage works and Smith’s livery stable, is being pushed as fast as possible. Bennett, Wheeler & Ce., and J. M. Catterlin are busy preparing the foundations for their Sarge warehouses, while T. W. Legy, who was alittle energetic, has his iron carriage shop completed and is in it and ready to sell you a high or low priced carriage or buggy, and will do all kinds of repair work. We have no hesitancy in saying that Miss Serafford fully sustained her high reputation as an elocutionist while in Butler, as she made many triends among our cifi- zens. Mrs. Parkinson and Miss Mamie Young favored the compaay with songs and Mr. Chas. Raithel rendered several pieces on the Zith- er. tle time betore he was recognized. A 15 year old son of L. Bradford at the mines, was accidentally shot early this morning.
