PRINTERS SPEEDING FIRST VOLUMES OF _, 1937 SESSION LAWS For First Time Since 1889 Compilation Will Require Over 700 Pages Printers hustled Tuesday to com- plete first volumes of North Dakota's 1937 session laws carrying history of the 25th legislation session which passed more than 250 new measures including nearly 170 effective July 1. While there were not as many laws as in former years, Secretary of State James D. Gronna said com- piled session laws probably will be in excess of 700 pages, the largest volume turned out since statehood. Average number of pages in session law books Since the state was admitted to the union is less than 500, he said. ‘The volume's bulk was attributed to several lengthy measures in which law or expenditures and handling of fed- cral monies in cooperation with state Programs was set forth. The longest law of the 1937 session is the North Dakota unemployment compensation and social security act which comprises 25 pages, The state’s bill covers 20 pages. Table of contents lists 258 new laws of which 93 were declared “emi ” by legislators and be- came effective immediately.
