Mame bers of the cast were: Louis Wright, Vernice Pederson, Eleanor Chapin, Loyola Erickson, Dallas Olson, Lioyd Gilchrist, Vernon Pederson and Lome raine Johnson, Today’s Recipe Strawberry Maffins 2 cups flour, 4 teaspoons baking powder, 15 teaspoon salt, 1 egg, 1 cup crushed strawberriés, sweetened, 4 tablespoons melted shortening, Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together. Beat egg and add to berries together with the shorten- ing. Add to flour mixture, mixing only enough to dampen the flour. Bake in Greased muffin tins in hot oven (425 degrees Fahrenheit) 20 to 25 minutes. Yield: 16 small muffins, Donald and Adolph Hieb Jr, ate Tuttle Friday Pineapple Filling One cup syrup from cen of pine- apple, % cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, 3 tablespoons cornstarch, 1 tae blespoon butter, 1 egg yolk, 2 table- spoons lemon juice, 1 cup crushed pineapple. Combine sugar, flour, cornstarch. Add pineapple syrup. Cook over hot water 20 minutes, Stir until it thicke ens. Add butter and lemon juice. Remove from heat, then fold in egg yolk. Cool, Fold in crushed pine- apple (drained). Cool. Then spread between layers of cake, Pineapple Daffodil Icing Two egg whites, % teaspoon cream tartar, 1% cups sifted confectioner’s Sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat whites until foamy, add cream of tartar. Continue beating until dry and stiff, then add sugar, 2 table- spoons et a time. Continue beating until all sugar is used. Add more sugar if you want a stiffer icing. Wedges of sliced pineapple make the decorative daffodils with s spot of green candy or frosting in the center.
