O. Arnson from Judge Burke’s physician in Rochester. Judge Burke was taken ill about a month ago and after consultation with physicians here made a visit to Rochester, Minn., where he-was examined by doctors at the Mayo clinic, Returning to Bismarck, he left two weeks ago for Roches- ter, in company with Mrs. Burke and their daughter, Marian, and underwent an operation on May 6. Word received here indicated that he came through the operation in splendid manner for a man of his years but last Sunday he-took a turn for the worse and his son, Thomas J. Burke, local attorney, was called to his bedside. All members of the family are assumed to have been with him at the time | of his death. The aged jurist had long suffered from a chronic form of bronchial asthma.
