The cast as a whole is excellent. | Dix Explains Why He Left Stage for Films Fame on the silver screen came to | Richard Dix because an author be- jlieved Dix was not the right type for the leading role in a stage play which Richard Dix had set his heart on playing. The amusing thing about the story is that Dix, who is starred in “Devil's Squadron” with Karen Morley and Lloyd Nolan, showing Thursday, Fri- Gay and Saturday at the Capitol The- atre, tells the tale on himself. “I was leading man with the old Morosco Theatre group,” Dix said, “I was cast to play the leading role in a play called ‘Civilian Clothes.’ “But the author, Thompson Bu- the role so the part was given to Thurston Hall,” Dix continued. “That infurtated. me s0 that I swore I'd never play on the stage again.
