MONDAY, AUGUST 24, 1936 tock and \Crop Insurance Data Now Being Compiled Washington, Aug. 24.—(7)—Actual data for a vast crop insurance plan designed to offset damage to millions of wheat, cotton and corn acres through drouth, flood and pests was being assembled Monday at uhe agri- culture department. : Roy H. Green, chief of a financial division, now is directing a staff at work in charting the framework of a possible federal insurance plan ‘ad- vocated by Secretary Wallace. Government experts have toyed with this idea for a number of years, Green said, and the staff di- | rectly engaged in research was in- creased by 75 AAA workers near the end of June, a date corresponding to first ravages of the drouth. Green expressed confidence that basic data for crop insurance can be worked out that will be as sound as present life insurance tables despite the failure of four ventures by pri- vate corporations into all-risk faris insurance in recent years. Another development in the drouth situation was the announcement of W. I. Myers, governor of the farm credit administration, that farmers in Looking for a Good Ma Use the WANT-ADS | Male Help Wanted Female Help Wanted MAN —Able to put in 8 hours a day.
