, © Miss Marguerite A. Kennedy Is Betrothed to W. G. Huey), um rae Daughter of Former 8 of Former State En- gineer to Wed Brother of Local Man News of the engagement of Miss Marguerite A. Kennedy of Denver, Colo., to William G. Huey of Iowa City, Iowa, which was formally an- nounced at a dinner given June 13, will be of much interest to Bismarck friends’ of the bride-elect and of her Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Ken- nedy. The family left here just a year ago. Mr. Huey is attending Iowa City university and expects to receive his term. He is the son of Rev. and Mra. J. Way Huey of Jamestown and is a brother of Burkett Huey of this city. No date has been set for the wed-; ding, which will take place after Mr. Huey receives his advanced degree. Miss Kennedy's father formerly was state engineer and the>family had a wide circle of acquaintances through: out North Dakota. She was gradu- ated from Bismarck high school and from Jamestown college from which she also won a degree in music. Miss Kennedy was well-known for her in- terest in music activities and her Piano performances which always were in much demand. She was prominent in young people's activities in the First Baptist church. In Den- ver she has a large class of pupils. Snapdragons and sweet peas were the floral note in decorations for the announcement dinner given in the Kennedy home. The secret was told through miniature diplomas tied with white silk ribbons. Among those taking part in a musical program fol- lowing the dinner were a violinist from the Civic symphony of Denver and the tenor soloist from the Cal- vary Baptist choir, both friends of Miss Kennedy. ‘When Mr. Huey concluded a week’s stay in Denver, he and members of the Kennedy family made a trip to the South Dakota Black Hills, where Mr, Kennedy's governmental position takes him at this time, for an outing. ee * Helen Young Is Bride In Evening Ceremony Tapers in candelabra lighted the chancel and garden flowers in shades of pink, yellow and blue combined with pink and yellow roses decorated the altar of the First Presbyterian church of Jamestown for the marriage ‘Wednesday evening of Miss Helen E. Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Young of Selfridge, to Rollin H. Johnson, son of Mes. prcila Johnson of Jamestown: Officiating at the caren at 8 o'clock was Rev. D. D. Jansen. Miss Zua Smith of Jamestown and \Miss Dorothy Crawford of South Da- ota, a cousin of the bride, wearing r-length frocks of blue and yellow fon, respectively, and carrying handkerchiefs to match their gowns and bouquets of blue delphinium and fellow columbine, were the brides- maids. Allin Johnsun was his broth- er’a best man, and William Wilmot served as usher. Miss Young was given in marriage by her father. She wore a floor- Tength dress of pink silk and carried ® bouquet of pink roses and baby’s breath. As an ornament she wore @ gold bracelet belonging to her mother. ‘The musical setting for the cere- mony was provided by Miss Mary Huey, organist, who sounded the tra- ditional wedding marches and also plaeyd “At.
