Phillips Holmes, handsome young leading man playing the hazardous role of a British secret agent, is the son of Taylor Holmes, noted stage actor, and Edna Phillips, equally fam- ous on the stage. Holmes has made picture after pic- ture, the current Republic production being his twentieth major perform- ance. His most recent important roles were in “Million Dollar Ran- som,” “Great Expectations” and “The Divine Spark.” Lovely Mae Clarke, who shares ad- ventures and romance with Holmes, was a Philadelphia’ beauty who first made a hit as a featured dancer in one of George White's famous Broad- way shows. Her first screen fame was instantaneous with James Cagney in “Public Enemy,” and her recent star- ring roles have included “The Daring Young Man,” “Silk Hat Kid,” “Frank- enstein,” “Turn Back the Clock,” and the Republic comedy hit, “Hitch-Hike Lady.” \A chorus can’t refrain from Kicking about its work, WRIGLEY’S TH PERFECT GUM | AFTER EVERY MEAL THE BISMARCK TRIBUNE, TUESDAY, JUNE 16, 1936 THE GUMPS—LOVE AND KISSES JUST A FEW SHORT YEARS AGO | MEANT EVERYTHING TO BIMBO- q HE USED TO CALL ME ‘HEAVEN EVES- Vox | Love You TRuLy 29 2 WELL, DIDN'T You JUST FIX THINGS UP DANDY!
