Transfers approximated 1,800,000 shares, Reports that the Ethiopian emperor had instituted a peace move with the Ttalians were said to have induced some short-covering and replacement of reecntly liquidated commitments. ‘The lack of volume on the ad- vance, at the same-time, was condu- cive to caution among some broker- age customers. An upturn in scat- tered metal stocks was attributed to a mild revival of inflationary psy- chology inspired by renewed warn- ings concerning huge excess bank reserves. Among commodities, cotton exhib- ited strength. Grains were narrow. Bonds were a trifle irregular.
