LAUINGER, 69, 33-Year Resident of Emmons County Succumbs to At- tack of Pneumonia Mil tn a Bismarck hospital more than five weeks with pneumonia, Mrs. Stephen Lauinger, 69, for 33 years a resident of the farm community 16 miles southeast of Linton, died at 10:15 p. m. Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 8:30 a. m., in St. Mich- ael’s church southeast of Linton where requiem high mass will be sung with 12 ‘priests participating in the ser- vice. At 10:30 a. m., mass will be sung by Mrs. Lauringer's son, Father Francis C. Lauringer in St. Peter and Paul's church at Strasburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery with long- time neighbors acting as pallbearers. Mrs, Lauringer was born Joanna Fettig in south Russia, Jan. 14, 1866. She was married there on Nov. 12, 1891 and came with her husband to North Dakota 33 years ago, settling on an Emmons county homestead. Besides her husband and Father Lauinger, she leaves two daughters, _|Mrs. George Burgad and Mrs. Anton Fettig of Napoleon; four sisters, Mrs. Michael Schwartzberger and Mrs Michael Masseth of Bismarck; Mrs. Matthew Moszer of Strasburg and Mrs. Frank Kirchengessler of Aber- deen, S. D., and a brother, Anton, of Glendive, Mont. The body is at the Calnan Funeral home. 42 Must Stand Trial In Mail Fraud Case Chicago, Oct. 25.—(#)—Federal Judge Phillip L. Sullivan has ruled that 42 defendants in the mail fraud case of the mythical Sir Francis Drake estate must stand trial Nov. 18. The defense moved for a bill of par- ticulars which was denied Thursday. Holiday Turkeys to Cost Consumer More Chicago, Oct. 24.—(#)—Holiday tur- keys this year apparently are going to cost more than last year, a survey by the United States department of agri- culture indicates. Heavy reductions in the number of turkeys in flocks and in the number of turkey raisers were reported to the bureau of agricultural economics at Austin, Tex., which estimated the total crop for 1935 would be 13 per cent lower than last year. The important producing states of Texas and North Dakota reported flocks smaller this year by at least one third.
