AAA COUNCIL SEEKS ~ MORE HOGS IN 1936 Farm Bureau Federation Chief| Asks Continuation of All Control Programs Washington, Sept. 26.—(7)—Strong worded demand for {ncreased hog supplies next year came from the AAA consumers’ coungil Thursday as pleas were made for continuation of the corn-hog adjustment program next year. Don E. Montgomery, director of the consumers’ council, speaking at a hearing to determine whether. there should be a program, declared “if there is to be a corn-hog adjustment. program, it should, in the interests of the consumer, permit the supply of hog products for domestic consump- tion to increase as rapidly as is con- sistent with the purposes of the act.” “In the year 1935-36, it should per- mit hog production to increase at Jeast as rapidly as it would increase if were no adjustment pro- eram....” Edward A, O’Neal, president of the American Farm Bureau Federation, ‘urged continuation of all adjustment ‘Brograms, O'Neal declared that through the adjustment programs, agriculture is doing exactly what industry has done for itself. He said from 1929 to the spring of 1933, farm prices dropped 63 per cent because farm production was reduced only 6 per cent. During this same period, he added, produc- tion in farm implements factories dropped 80 per cent and the prices of farm implements declined only 6 per cent. Ask your dealer this one question More than 100 brands of anti-freeze are being marketed under various names. Most of them are based on alcohol, and because many are not plainly labeled it is easy to be- come confused. Just ask your dealer this simple question about any anti-freeze you are considering much of this product is alcohol?” That is important, fer alcohol, no matter how disguised or what it is called, is. subject to evaporation, leaving you without adequate protection. Your dealer will tell you that Eveready Prestone con- tains no glycerine, no alcohol . . . and that # will mat boil
