WHEAT CONFERENCE UPSET BY FRENCH DEMAND FOR QUOTA ‘Big Four’ Blame France's Pol- icy of Self-Sufficiency for Plight Budapest, Hungary, Nov. 2.—(7)—| France Thursday upset the plans of ‘the big wheat exporting nations by formally demanding of the interna- tional wheat commission in session here that she be included in the na- tions allotted wheat export quotas. Tt was understood that she re- quested permission to export 20,- 000,000 bushels of wheat, twice the amount the United States asked and ‘twice the allotment suggested for question into the full conference. Jean Chavante, the French dele- gate, issued a statement on the dif- ficulties encountered by France be- cause of her large wheat surplus. The Big Four delegates blamed France’s Policy of self-sufficiency for her Plight, pointing out that her wheat crop had overshot the 100 per cent of Forestry and director of the tree!
