Area Executive Outlines Fall Boy Scout Program , iNetland Urges Boys to Join Lo- cal Troops; Expects Heavy Membership All-encompassing preparations for the elaborate fall scouting program to’ be launched in Bismarck’s nine Boy Boout troops were announced Fri- day by Paul O, Netland, area scout executive. “There is a place in Bismarck scout- ing for every boy 12 years or over,” the area scout executive said, en- couraging all boys not already in ac- tive scouting to make contacts with the local unit in which they have the greatest interest. Expected heavy membership in the organized troops may necessitate the founding of a new unit in the city. In case the new unit is organized, it is likely that Gideon Hample, efficient assistant scoutmaster of troop 3 last year, will be placed in charge, Net- Jand said. Many of the local troups have al-| ready launched their fall programs and the entire nine groups will swing into action before the end of next week. Father Robert Holleman, former} scoutmaster of troop 7, has been named by the district board as a new) member of the staff of Bismarck dis- | trict commissioners. He will work in cooperation with William McGraw, A. Cc, Van Wyk, Myron Anderson and! Wesley Sherwin in directing local scouting activities. J. N. Roherty, chairman of the dis- trict, has eight standing activity com-| mittees who will direct the special phazes of the proposed fall program. | Besides these officials are the active) troop committees made up of from three to four men chosen from the troop’s sponsoring organization. Camping, court of honor and leader- ship training committees, under Roh- erty, although not ready to make defi- nite announcements of their schedul- es, have laid plans for the biggest pro- gram ever attempted in the history of Bismarck scouting. Four courts of honor will be held during the win- ter with the first one to be held in the near future.
