Meeting Rene Le Roy, | Rene Bas began informal playing of jworks for flute and string, an asso- ciation which resulted in the founding of the quintet to be heard here. Pierre Jamet, harpist, is a member of the board of the Paris Conserva- |totre. Culminating his studies at the Conservatory by winning first prize lin 1912, he was heard by Claude Debussy and there arose between the two a mutual regard and friendship | |which lasted until the composer's ; death. He was born in LaCrosse, Wis., and {started his railroad career with the | Burlington railroad there. He was jmarried to Anna J. Nelson at Glen- wood, Minn., in 1899. He had worked at Glenwood and Enderlin with the Soo line before coming to Bismarck, He leaves his wife and son, Dr. ‘Kenneth W. Morris of Bismarck, a , brother, William Morris of Beloit, Wis.. |and an adopted sister, Mrs. Ella Stan, also of Beloit.
