D., Feb. 9.—(?)—The state Sixteen witnesses were the stand Wednesday, including J. W. Fischer, Dodge, N. D., owner of an automobile which the state claims was used in the robbery. Fischer identified Campbell as a man who came into his garage on Aug. 2, made a purchase and inspect- ed several new automobiles while Fischer made change. The following morning the Fischer place was robbed and an automobile stolen. The car fits the description of the car used in the Hunter bank robbery. It was re- covered near Faribault, Minn., where it had been abandoned. The car had a hole in the rear just above the gaso- ea oo apparently made by @ nulles Man and Woman Held In Coast Kidnaping Los Angeles, Feb. 9.—(7)—A man and a woman were in technical cus- tody of police Thursday in connection with the kidnaping of Mrs. Mary B. Skeele, 65, wife of Dr. Walter F. C. student body president. Police records listed the woman as iMrs, Luella Pearl Hammer, 27, and the man as W. D. Howard, 32, tors directed her husband to deposit the $10,000 in ransom money they had demanded.
