About 60 friends and relatives of Miss Eva Heck gathered at her home Monday evening to surprise her, the occasion being her birthday. Other guests included relatives from Sunny and Mandan. According to word received recently from the O,.B. Peterson family, who left heer last fall for Elmira, Idaho, they like their new home very much. Peterson, who bought a quarter sec- tion of land two miles from Elmira, has erected a set of buildings since ore Miss Frances Haas of Turtle Lake was adjudged the winner in a recent contest sponsored by the J. C. Penney company. Miss Haas is the grand- daughter of Mrs. Mathilda-Baumgart. The contest was on the subject of Christmas decoration for homes.
