SOCIETY N ‘Associate Members Arrange Program for Thursday Music Club Associate members of the Thursday Musical club, under the direction of Miss Belle Mehus presented a pro- gram featuring modern American composers at their meeting yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. M. W. Roan. . Miss Mehus opened the program with a talk summarizing the contri- tutions of recent American compos- ers to the world of music and briefly discussed present day musical trends. The program also included the fol- lowing musical numbers: Piano, From an Old Album and Valse (Mok- Tejs), Miss Abigail Roan; vocal, A Rose For Every Heart and A Thrush at Eve (Cadman) Mrs. George Mc- Kenna, Napoleon; piano, The Chimes of St. Patrick (Whithorne), Miss Marie Lemohn, Vocal, A Gift For You and My ‘Dear (Cadynan), Mrs. J. E. Davis; trio, The Ramp in the West (Parkler) I Shall Not Pass Again This Way (Effizger), Mrs. W. J. Targart, Mrs. J. % Davis and Mrs. R. E. Morris; Votal, To a Messenger (LaForge) and Winds From the South (Prindle Scott), Mrs. Targart; piano, Covered Wagon (Radie Britian) and Prelude (Alma Mehus), Miss Belle Mehus. The latter piece was composed by Miss Mehus’ sister. * * Rev. E. Logee, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiated at the wedding of Miss Muriel M. Burtch and Charles W. Cauthers, whicn took Place at four o'clock yesterday after- noon at the Presbyterian manse. Miss Evelyn Chase and F. E. Tunell were the attendants. The bride, a daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. G. S, Burtch, Deering, was graduated from the Bis- marck hospital training schooi with the class of 1929. Since that time she has been engaged in private duty nursing in Bismarck. Mr. Cauthers 4s employed here and the couple plan to make their home in the city for the Present. se & Appointments in the Christmas colors, red and green, were used for the seven o'clock dinner given by Mrs. Oscar Zeamer, Mandan, when she entertained members of the T. C. L. club last evening. Covers were Placed for 15. Later the guests gath- ered around a Christmas tree and gifts were exchanged. The evening was spent at peanut whist, with the prize going to Mrs. F. L. Burdick, ‘Mandan. Guests were Bismarck and Mandan women. * * * Miniature Christmas trees and red and green candles were used to form a holiday motif for the tables when Mrs. George Shunk and Mrs. Theo- dore Sette entertained at a seven o'clock dinner at the Shunk home, 712 Ninth street, last evening. Covers were placed for 16 guests. Mrs. Carl Nelson and Mrs. Paul Homan held honors in the bridge games after dinner. xk * Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Beall, Mason apartments, will leave Saturday eve- ning for Washington, D. C., where they will be the guests of Mr. Beall’s Parents, the Rev. and Mrs. W. B. Beall. Later they plan to visit rela- tives at Baltimore, and will spend a week or more in New York. They expect to be away about six weeks. * * * Miss Agnes Boehm entertained the members of her bridge club at her home last evening. Bridge was played at three tables, with score honors go- {ag to Mrs. Herman Brocopp and Miss Jeanette Shipley. Mrs. Philip Blank, New Salem, was a guest from out of the city. * * * Mrs. John R. Waldo at the Will school Pioneer club meeting.
