Chapter Receives Charter Eta Rho chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, national education sorority, received its charter at an installation ‘and emblem service, following a ban- last evening in the Rose room North Dakota. ‘The following officers were elected and installed: Miss Amy Fahlgren, president; president; Miss Bernice Nelson, sec- retary; and Miss Adelia Soehren, reasurer. tr 4 Miss, Fern Bauersfeld, Kansas City, Mo., staff secretary for the national organization, was the main speaker. She gave an inspiring address, out- lining the purpose and aims of the sorority. Miss Nira Robinson, Kan- sas City, also a staff secretary. con- ducted the emblem service, assisted by Mrs. Alberta Frye, Billings, Mont. Covers were placed banquet. The sorority colors, blue and gold, were emphasized in the ap- pointments and favors, and a bow! of snapdragons and. roses centered the table. ‘The new sorority will hold its first meeting sometime me month. * * Mrs. E. T. Beatt and Mrs. Gerald Richholt were joint hostesses at a seven o'clock buffet supper last eve- ning at the Beatt home, 422 First street. Pink sna and daisies * were used to center the tables, and appointments carried out a pink and green color note. Places were laid for 16 at the tables. Bouquets of fall flowers were arranged in the living room, where bridge was played, with honors going to Miss Rose Huber and Mrs, E. M. Hendricks. This was the last of a séries of parties which Mrs. Beatt and Mrs. Richholt have given in the last few weeks. xe * SOCIETY NEWS Mrs. James Morris, 221 Avenue A west, will leave this evening for Bos- ton, Mass. where she will be one of the state delegates to the national convention of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Morris is a past president of the North Dakota de- partment of the Auxiliary and was recently elected national’ committee- woman. * * * Members of St. Rose’s missionary group were entertained at a card party last evening by Mrs. Frank * Andrist, 508 Avenue E. There were guests for three tables, with honors going to Mrs. L. R. Priske and Mrs. H. Niles.
