Seeking a remedy to the dwindling attendance at the ball games, Keyser conceived the idea of installing huge electric projectors at his park to en- able the playing of the national pas- time at night. The big test of Keyser’s venture will come tomorrow night when the Des Moines team will play the Wich- lta aviators in the first regularly scheduled league game in the history of the sport. Walker Cup Team Traveling on Sea Jones. and Seven Other Yankee Golfers on Way to Eu- rope for Matches | New York, May 1—(?)—Robert T. Jones Jr, and seven other crack ama- teur golfers, comprising America’s ‘Walker cup team, were on the high seas today bound for England. ‘Within two weeks the American golfing emigrants will defend the trophy, donated by George H. Walker, president of the U. S. G. A., in 1920 and won five consecutive times by the United States. Captain Jones had little to say be- yond the fact that he believed the American team tobe’ strong one: And that he hoped to retain the in- ternational cup. The veteran of the team was Francis Ouimet, who has had a hand in all of the matches played so far. Jones has played in four Walker cup matches and yet has to taste defeat in the ‘singles. The Georgian did not make the trip in 1923. George Voigt antl Don Moe are the ‘only two new to international com- petition. In addition Jones, Ouimet, Voigt and Moe the Walker cup team included Harrison. R. Johnston, George Von Elm, Dr. O. F. Willing and Roland MacKenzie. Napoleon Athletes Win Triangular Meet Title Napoleon, N. D., May 1.—Napoleon tri track-meet-held this- week at Linton. Hazelton, the third entry, failed to score. Napoleon won the meet with 47 points and Linton ‘scored 42. Joe Hunkele, Napoleon, won indi- vidual honors, placing first in the mile, half-mile and 440. Out of the 10 events, Napoleon took five firsts and tied for another first place. Reid- linger, Linton, scored 10 points.
