¥' LUNCHEON PLANNED BY A.OFC.FOR ARRY TEST FLYING TOUR Fleet Of Airplanes From Sel- fridge Expected to Arrive Here Two Days Late A luncheon is to be given the army ‘lyers from Selfridge field when they stop off here on their flight back to Mt. Clemens from the test tour to Spokane. i The luncheon will be sponsored by the Association of Commerce and will be served at the Prince hotel. The stay of the air fleet here will be merely over the noon hour. The ships will take on gasoline and oil here and, after the crews have dined, they will fly out for Fargo, the over- night stopping point eastward. The night previous to arrival here will be spent on the Miles City field, pro- nounced by the army, navy and ma- rine corps the finest natural airport in’ the country, which probably is one reason for the War department indicating that city as the overnight stop on this link, When the planes will arrive here is indefinite, from the fact that the flight departure has been postponed twice. Now that the fleet is winging westward two days late, the original date for arrival here January 14, may be changed to January 16. However, there may be other delays during the tour to throw it still farther back. In any event, this city will be in- formed by wire from Miles City of the day and hour of departure from there for here and the time of prob- able arrival in Bismarck, so that last- hour arrangements for the enter- tainment of the flyers will be possi- ble. The fleet will land on the field at Fort Lincoln. Colonel W. A. Alfonte has not received any instructions as to receiving the flyers. Arrangements for refueling have been made at Sel- fridge field headquarters with one of the big oil companies, and its em- ployes will attend to servicing the ships. The Association of Commerce ex- Rects to have a fleet of automobiles at the fort flyimg field to receive the aviators and bring them into town. Charity Ball at N. D. A. C. Set for Feb. 23 Fargo, N.
