The party was planned as a fare- well for Mrs. Kossick, who is leav- ing soon for her home. se Mrs. Murnane Hostess At Bridge Luncheon Mrs. William- Murnane was hos- tess at a 1 o'clock bridge luncheon at her home in Mandan yesterday afternoon. Covers were placed for 16 guests at the tables where a red and white color effect was carried out with red tulips, and lilacs and tulips were used in the decorations for the Tooms. High scores in the bridge games during the afternoon went to Mrs. Merton Orr and Miss Mary Kelly. Among the guests were a number of Bismarck ladies, including Mrs. M. B. Gilman, Mrs. Merton Orr, Mrs. A. E. Brink, Mrs. Carl Myhre, Mrs. J. K. Blunt, Mrs. Roy Logan, Mrs. M. J. Ratzlaff and Miss Mary Kelly. Mrs. Henry Snure, Los Angeles, who is visiting Mrs. Merton Orr, was also wn guest. Mrs. Murnane will entertain again on Saturday. * * * Mrs. Quain and Son Return from Europe Mrs. E. P. Quain and son Buell re- turned yesterday noon from New York City, where they arrived dune “ 2 on the S. S. Carmania from a five fae months tour of ied Northern Africa and the British Isles. a they took the Mediterranean cruise, visiting at points along the southern coast of Europe and also in Pales- tine. They took a boat trip up the Nile river, and returning visited the island of Sicily and spent some time in the larger cities of Italy. The past two months were spent in touring. Switzerland, France, Spain and the British Isles, and vis- iting places of historic interest. irs. Quain and Buell were accom- panied by Dr. Quain on the greater part of the trip, Dr. Quain returning to Bismarck uy wohl ag) ' Roberts Return from © {| 6,000-Mile Motor Trip Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Roberts re- ,) turned the first part of the week from @ four weeks motor trip, during which time they covered more than 6000 miles and visited many of the central and southern states. They visited in Minneapolis and in Ames, Iowa, where they were guests of Mr. Roberts’ sister, and at Chicago and Mattoon, Ill, where they spent ea some time with relatives of Mrs: Rob- ‘ erts. From Chicago they went to Wash- ington, D. C., to visit old time friends : and former North Dakotans, and re- turning they visited at a number of places in Virginia, Kentucky and Ten- nessee. * * * Mrs. T. R. Kirby, a former resident of Bismarck, has arrived from her home at Lamar, Colo., for a ten days visit with her sister, Miss Anastasia Skelly, and her brothers, Harold and Clement Skelly. Mrs. Kirby will go from here to Minneapolis and later to South Dakota to visit relatives before returning to her home. She will be accompanied by her sister, Miss Skelly, who has resigned her position with the Bell Telephone company, t and who plans to spend some time in Colorado and the west.
