Banking quarters held out hopes of easier money rates next week. Advance Rumely common broke 221% points to 60, rebounded to above 72 and then fell back again while the . On Wed- nesday, the common established a new high record at 104%, and the Preferred at 119. The decline in these issues was attributed to the collapse of pool operation as a result of the insistent hammering of “bear” trad- ers, Pan American issues quickly ad- vanced: to the forefront of the oil group, the B stock moving up 2 points to a new high record while the A ad- vanced to within a fraction of the top. Atlantic Refining and Standard Oils of New Jersey and California al- 80 were bought in large volume. Wright. acronautical (new) was marked up 5 points to 137 in the last hour, and there was a brisk demand for the United Aircraft issues. Pack- ard and Hudson shared the leader- ship of the motor group. Sparks ‘Withington, Commonwealth Power and Snider preferred were all listed to new peak prices for the year.
