After soaring to 51 degrees above zero yesterday afternoon, the mer- cury dropped to nine above this morning, bringing discomfort to thin- clad Bismarck with the quick change. The howling wind and snow failed, however, in their effort to ruffle the good humor of Old Sol, who con- tinued to beam on the city all day. The wind will have subsided by nightfall, according to weather offi- cials. North Dakota will be partly clouded tonight and Thursday, with a slight drop in temperature expected tonight. Good weather is promised for to- morrow to fight fans who will come to the city to see Russie LeRoy, Far- go, and Lee Cavanagh, Bismarck, stage their 10-round scuffle. Other temperaturcs in the state this morning were: Devils Lake 2 above; Fargo 18 above; and Williston 4 above.
