-MONDAY, DECEMBER 17, 1928 ‘| Social and Personal | Squirrel Club to Have New Year’s Carnival Dance Harold McDonald, Ernest Penward- en, dohn Erickson and Stanley Robi- deau are members of the committee (in charge of the annual Squirrel club New Year's eve dance. The dance will be given in the Patterson hall, and will be for members and their guests, Special decorations will be arranged *o give a carnival effect to the hall, and a number of feature dances are being planned. : ef Benefit Bridge Party Is Given Miss Julia Johnson and Miss Mar- garet Wyncoop entertained Friday evening at one of the series of van- ‘shing parties being given for charity benefit by the Catholic Daughters of America. Two tables of bridge were played during the evening. Scores are being kept by the score- keeper until the close of the series when a grand prize will be given. At the close of play a course lunch- eon was served by the hostesses, Music Club Hears Solos at Meeting Members of the Chromatic club held their last meeting before Christ- mas yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Hermann Scheffer. After ensemble practice Miss Helen Ostras sang, “Little Flower” (Rem- ick), “My Lady Sleeps,” (Sunderson), and “Slave Song,” (Del Riego), Del Riego’s “Homing” was sung by Miss Mildred Erickson. Miss Ethel Sandin sang a group of songs including, “In the Time of Roses” (Reichardt); “My Mother Bids Me Bind My Hair” (Haydn), and “Hark, Hark, the Lark” (Schubert). “I Know That My Redeemer Uiveth” from “The Messiah” by Han- del was very beautifully given by Miss Dortha Walker. Miss Marian Sandin sang ‘iuia” by Mozart. Miss Jessie Streig] sang a group of songs as the closing number of the program.
