Mr. and Mrs. Wes Henley of Heil were visiting relatives in Leith Wed- nesday. Several Leith people attended the funeral of William Boeshanz at Heil last wednesday. Mr. and Mrs, Julius Miller of El- gin were callers at the F. P. Emch home this week. On Tuesday 20 of the M. W. A. members pulled into the cornfield of D. E. Jones and went to work. While some of the men were badly crippled up by the end of the day, yet the corn pile grew just the same. A few of the R. N. A. helped serve dinner for the cornhuskers. Lanoth Woodbury and Gerald Hur- Jey were Bismarck callers Monday. Cecil Clark moved into the Mc- Caul Webster building last week. G, J. Kimball and Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Kimball and son arrived home from Wisconsin Tuesday. They have been with their mother, who has undergone a serious operation. They left her very much improved in health and able to leave the hospital. Mrs. Lena Davidson of Thunder- hawk, S. D., has been visiting at the home of her brother, Chas. Dav- idson of Leith, and her sister, Mrs. Wes Henley, of Heil. A full attendance registered at the Civic club meeting held at the F. P. Emch home Wednesday evening. The debate: Resolved, “That the main- tenance and organization of labor unions should be discouraged,” was the question of the Gaal + and seemed to be enjoyed by all. The speakers were: Affirmative, Mrs. J. H. Emch and Mrs. Chas. David- son; negative, Mrs. G. J. Kimball and Mrs. T. Weatherby. The question was decided in favor of the negative. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Gibson, ac- companied by Mrs. Lou Omdahl and Mrs. J. H. Emch motored to Bis- marck Friday. Miss Nellie Emch is a guest of Mrs. John Nix this ‘week.
