The contracting parties were Carl Spitzer of Napoleon and Miss Evelyn Barton and Harvey Beal of Kintyre and Miss Marion Barton, The Rev. Schagel of Hazel- ton officiated, using the beautiful and impressive ring service. Howard Barton, brother of the brides, acted as ring-bearer, carrying the rings in a daffodil. At the appointed hour to the music of Mendelssohn's wed- ding march, played by Miss Ruth Beal, the bridal party preceded by the minister and ring-bearer de- scended the stairs and stationed themselves in the parlor, and in the presence of 30 guests, all relatives, took the solemn vows that linked their future. Lowell Barton, a brother of the brides, acted as best man, and Miss Helen Sheer, a niece of Mr, Spitzer, acted as bridesmaid. The brides were charmingly gowned in orchid and green georgette with flowing veils to match and carried yellow and orchid chrysanthemums. he bridesmaid wore a delicate shade of yellow. Cut flowers and potted ferns lent the effect of beauty that was indeed indicative of good taste. Mrs. Reta Aavig of Mandan sang two beautiful and appropriate songs—“I Love You Truly,” and “When Song is Sweet.” Following the ceremony and after congratula- tions and good wishes had been ex- tended, Mr. and Mrs. Barton invited their guests to a bountiful buffet wedding supper. The many costly and appropriate presents received are evidence of the friendship and esteem in which the newly wedded pone people are held by the many ‘riends they have made during their life’s residence in this vicinity. The wedding occurred on the birthday of the brides’ father as well as Armistice Day. ‘ Amid the good-byes of the wedding guests the happy quartet left that evening for a short trip to the eastern part of the state. Upon their return, Mr. and Mrs. Spitzer will be at home on the farm of the groom’s father north of Kin- tyre, while Mr. and Mrs. Beal will reside in Kintyre. Friday evening, Nov. 9, Mesdames Vie, Shepard, Lesher, Zellmer, Ale bright and Button gave a shower in Siem’s htll in honor of Misses Eve- lyn and Marion Barton, who were soon brides-to-be. The hall was dec- orated very nicely and made quite home-like. evening’s entertain- ment consisted of social chat, games and a mock wedding which provided much amusement for the guests. Thirty-six guests were present. A delicate lunch was served by the hos- tesses and many words of congratu- lations and best wishes were given to the two honored guests. The aay received were many and beau- i iful. The Ladies Aid met at the home of Mrs. H. Albright Saturday afternoon. The hostess kept up her usual reputation of serving a fine lunch. Aid will hold their an- nual bazaar and serve dinner in the Siem hall Saturday, Dec. 8th. John Pailing, who passed away Monday, Nov. 5th, was born at Arena, Wis., in 1853, and in 1871 was married to Mary Thronson. In the same year ey. moved to Clear » Ia., where five girls and one boy were born. The mother died in 1902, also one sister passed away. The remaining children are Mrs. R. H. Corey of Braddock, Mrs. J. Band, and Mrs. E. E. Glanville of Wing, Mrs. F. Grims of Clear Lake; Ia., and Walter Pailing of Butte, N. D. There is also one sister at Forbes and two brothes at Clear Lake. Mr. Pailing was in an automobile acci- dent at Wing about three years ago and had been in poor health ever since. He had been with his daugh- ter, Mrs. R. H. Corey of Braddock for some time and at whose home he passed away. Services were con- ducted Thursday morning by Rev. Locker of Napoleon and two beauti- |" ful hymns were sung by Mesdames Locker and Long. The remains were taken to Clear Lake, Ia., for burial.
