Indians Girls Already MONK RASPUTIN ower for Circus’ IN NEWS AGAIN Russian Woman Claims Noto- rious Priest Was Her Father; Files Suit Paris, June 15.—(AP)—A woman tlaiming to be the daughter of the Monk Rasputin, one time confessor for the late Russian Czarina, has filed a damage suit for $1,000,000 for the assassination of her father against Prince Felix Youssopoff and| Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovitch. | The woman bases her claim for damages on evidence in a book by Prince Youssopoff which is just ap- pearing in Paris in which the “ex-| ecution” of the mysterious Monk is described and Prince Youssopoff and Grand Duke Dmitri are named as! principals. The name of the plaintiff is Ma-! dame Marie Gregoriena Rasputin, ' aged thirty, widow of Boris Solovieff. | Her counsel said today that her, claim to be the legitimate daughter | of Rasputin and Feodorovna Doub-| rovine is fully shown by papers which she has produced. | Gregory Rasputin, the son of a) poor peasant, obtained great influ-! ence with the late Russian Empress! through what she believed was his} mystic power in preserving the health of her son, the Grand Dukej Alexis, whose life had’more than once been despaired of. Poison Fails, Is Shot Ignorant and notorious for his de- baucheries, Rasputin was hated by a section of the Russian court which was powerless because of his in- fluence over the Czarina. A supreme! effort to free the empire and the dynasty from his influence was made by a small group of men of the highest social position in 1916 and Rasputin was shot dead on Decem- ber 15, after an attempt at poisoning him had failed. The killing took place at the Yous- sopoff palace and among the group present were the Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovitch, Prince Youssopoff and M. Purichkevich. Rasputin’s body} was thrown under the ice of a canal. The Grand Duke was later sent to Persia to join a fighting column and Price Youssopoff was ordered to leave the capital and to be interned in his estate. The death -of Rasputin was a ter- rific shock to the empress and she had his body transferred to the park of Tsarskoe Selo where a special chapel was erected. She was said to have come every night to pray on his grave. Prince Felix Youssopoff visited the United States in 1925, NOTICE TO CREDITORS. In the Matter of the Estate of Henry C. Kneght, Deceased.
