E, Williams of this city, and Michael Shantz of Mandan oc- curred Friday evening at the par- sonage of St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Mandan. Rev, Father Paul officiated at the ceremony. Miss Emily Shantz was brides- maid and Marie Shantz attended as flower girl. The groom was at- tend. : by Joseph Shantz. Mr. and Mrs. Shantz are mak- ing their home in Mandan, where the groom is a proprietor of a bar- ber shop. The bride, whose home is in this city, has been employed by the Bar-, ker Bakery and Candy company for the past three years, Mothers, Daughters Banquet at Wilton Planned For Feb. 14 The Tanadoona Campfire Girls of Wilton will sponsor the Mothers and Daughters banquet which will b+ held at that place Tuesday eve- ning, February 14, Mrs. J. J. Gar- rity and Mrs. V. W. Fiegal are guardians of this Campfire group. Miss Bertha R. Palmer, state su- perintendent of public instruction, will address the guests at the ban- quet on the subject “What Do You Like?” The Campfire enrolment at Wil- ton is 45 members, and more than 65 mothers and daughters are ex- pected to attend the banquet. Squirrel Club : Gives. Dancing Party Saturday More than 30 couples attended the private dancing party which the Squirrel club gave Saturday eve- ning at the A. O. Us W. hall. Music for the dancing was fur- nished by Jackie Sherman and her orchestra, and refreshments were served during the evening. : eo Birthday Party For Frank Potter Friday Mrs. R. E. Potter entertained Fri- day evening in honor of the four- teenth birthday anniversary of her son, Frank, Three tables of bridge were in pla, during the evening and score prizes were awarded to Aileen Cameron and Dale Brown, Eula Cameron and Ernest Lack. George Washington favors and decorations were used for the table anpointments when the cours luncheon was served at the close of the evening. Mrs. Scott Cameron assisted Mrs. Potter in serving. Hi Dancing will begin at 9p. m. at the Elks dancing party which will be a social event of this week. The party will be held Friday evening at the Elks hall. Officers at Fort Lincoln and their ladies will be guests of the Elks lodge at the af- fair, which otherwise will be for members of the lodge and their ladies only. oe The American Legion auxiliary will meet Wednesday evening at 7:30 at the Business and Profession- al Women’s club rooms, One of the series of bridge games will he played. The writer does not mean to criticize anyone, however, he signed the petition for the repeal of the prohibition clause in our N. D. Con- stitution, His intention by doing 89, as he sees it, does not mean a step back to dark ages, but means a step forward in civilization and protecting human life and property. The writer does not believe in open saloons. He believes in the highest respected living life given the American people in the consti- tution that “our forefathers made, which conetitution also gives us the right to alter laws that cause de- struction to human lives by poisoned moonshine. If the government would control or sell the liquor and manufacture it, it surely would be pure liquor, not poisoned moonshine.
