THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 1927 Mrs. Jack Fleck and Miss Betty Fleck Are Hostesses at Bridge Mrs. Jack Fleck and Miss Betty Fleck were hostesses at bridge Wed- nesday evening at the Bismarck Country club. Six tables of bridge were in pay, and honors were held by Miss Mar- jan Burke, Miss Ruth Pollard and Miss Anna Mae Ankeman. Bright colored autumn leaves were used to decorate the club rooms where bridge was played. A refreshment course was served at the close of the evening. Emmett Griffin Will Be Presented in Song Recital Friday Night Emmett Griffin will be presented in song recital Friday evening at 8 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Hermann Scheffer. Ivory taper can- dles were used on the tables for centerpieces. WILL SPONSOR PLAY The U.C.T. of Bismarck will sponsor the musical revue called “The Lost Key Revue” which will be given here Oct. 22. Billy Chap- leau, who directed the musical com- edy “Don’t Park Here,” given in this city two years ago, will be in charge of the production. Those who took part in the last play directed by Mr. Chapleau are asked to cooperate again in making “The Lost Key Revue” a success. Mr. Chapleau will be in Bismarck in a week. ATTEND POLITICAL MEETING Bismarck men who attended the political meeting held at Fargo Wed- nesday were Gordon Cox, H. F. O’Hare, Guy Lee, George Shafer and Thomas Hall. VISITS AT HOME Mrs. L. B. Places were laid for 125 guests. At the conclusion of the supper, the guests sat in family groups for the short devotional service. Plans were then outlined for meetings to be held each Wednesday evening in October. The social program of the evening was concluded with an_ entertain- ment feature called “The Human Pipe-Organ.” Another family pot-luck supper will be (lage at the church next Wednesday evening and the congre- gation will begin the study of every ‘age group in the book “Your Pres- byterian Church.” This program will be in keeping with the subject of the church program for the month, “Church Loyalty.” Legion Auxiliary Gives Weiner Roast More than 75 attended the weiner roast Wednesday evening which the Legion Auxiliary gave for members of the American Legion and their families. The picnic supper was served around a camp fire at 6:30 at the Memorial bride. Following the sup- per the Legion held a meeting at the club rooms, while the Auxiliary held its regular meeting at the Bus- iness and Professional Women’s club, GARWICKS START HOME Mr. and Mrs. N. Garwick, who have been in Bismarck and Hebron for several weeks, left today for their home at Brawley, Calif. They were detained here when Mrs. Gar- wick had both arms fractured in an automobile collision near Medina a month ago, in which Gottlieb Rau was fatally hurt. After Mrs. Gar- wick was able to leave the local hos- pital, but before she was in condi- tion to make the trip to California by auto, she and Mr. Garwick went to Hebron, where they formerly lived, to visit friends. They returned to Bismarck Wednesday so that Mrs. Garwick’s fractures could be given final examination before she started the homeward trip. HELD BUSINESS MEETING Following the weiner roast which the Legion auxiliary gave Wednes- day evening for the members of the American Legion and their families, members of the Auxiliary held a bus- iness meeting at the Business and Professional Women’s club rooms. Four tables of bridge were in play after the meeting. VISIT RELATIVES Mrs. A. W. Cook and daug'sters Nana and Mary, have returned from a trip to points in West Virginia where they visited relatives and friends. En route home they were the guests of Seth B. Cook at De- troit, Mich., and visited Mr. and Mrs. Albert W. Cook at La Crosse, Wis.
