Miss Nellie Sites Is Honoree at Party The Salvation Army of Bismarck entertained Monday evening at a farewell patty at the army hall in honor of Lieutenant Nellie Sites, who is leaving for Fergus Falls, Minn., Wednesday to make her home. About 40 guests -nttended the party and the evening was spent with music and games. Sergeant Major Meader, Mrs. William Ketty, Ensign Emma Aaserude and Miss Tillie Steb- bins gave brief speeches in farewell ‘to Miss Sites and in appreciation of her work ‘with the Bismarck army. At the conclusion of the evening a refreshment course was served. Miss Sites was presented with a gift. GOING TO CINCINNATI Senator Obert Olson will leave here early:next week for Cincinnati, Ohio, whebe he will represent the Bismarck ‘Elks lodge as its official delegate to the annual convention of the order, which will be held in Cin- cinnati this: year from July 11 to 16, Mrs. Olson will accompany him and they plan to motor at least as far as St. Paul. Whether they will board the special Elks train, carrying dele- gates from the northwest states to the meeting, at St. Paul or motor the entire distance has not yet been decided. AMERICAN LEGION PICNIC War mothers and fathers and mem- bers of Company A are invited to at- % tend the picnic which the American Legion and Auxiliary are giving ‘Thursday evening at Fort Lincoln. Bavendick, fitst assistant at the local weather bureau office, left today for Miles City, Mont., where he will take charge of the weather bureau office temporarily, due to the injury of the regular at- tendant. He will probably be away about two weeks. Mrs. Bavendick and daughter, Mary Jean, will leave to- morrow for Eilendale, where they will visit at the home of Mrs, dick’s parents while Mr.-Bave in Montana. There will be no cash prizes for the winning blooms at the show, but the judges will make suitable awards, It is desired that other flowers ve- side peonies be submitted for exhibi- tion. No awards will be made for these but a variety of choice flowers such as, irises, columbine, delphine- ans, or any other perennial or annual flower, are requested for display. This is the first peony show which has ever been held in Bismarck and all lovers of lowers are called upon to cooperate and make it a success. Arthur Brown. Miss Anna Brown is a graduate of the Bismarck hospital nurses’ school, and Miss Ethel Brown has been attending the Bismarck Business college for the past nine months, They plan to work in Chicago for the remainder of the summer.
