To Hold Convention The Ladies Drill Team of Bismarck will attend the Grand Lodge of the A. 0. U. W. twentieth session, at Devils Lake, N, D., on May 27, 28 and 29. The team is captained by Mr. E. F. Treff and includes the following: Misses Amelia Schebler, Louise Schebler, .Marcelle Braun, Ruth Swartz, Ellen Anderson, Eva Bailett, Esther Peterson, Elyna Cedergren, Mary Dunn, Elizabeth Dunn, Emma Grob, Mrs. C. H. Derby and Fred Brodl. The convention, which lasts three days will be one of the biggest yet held. Delegates will be present from all over the state. Mr. Grant Marsh is the official delegate from Bis- marek, but several others are plan- ning to attend. The convention program includes a two million dollar parade, headed by the Governor’s Boy band, and will be held Thursday. Friday the 1 drill team contest is the principal event. Five hundred dollars in mon- ey and a silver loving cup will be awarded the winning team. Delegates are urged to bring their whole families and spend a week at the lake. An invitation is also ex- tended to the general public. ENTERTAINS FOR SEPTEMBER BRIDE Mrs. V. J. LaRose and Mrs. T. B. Cayou entertained Friday evening in the beautiful home of the former in compliment to Miss Carrol McClure of Dickinson, teacher of geometry in the Bismarck high school, whose marriage will be an important event of September. The early evening was spent in playing bridge. The tables were prettily appointed und high score in the games was won by Miss Luella Halberg. The dining room was the scene of the cleverly planned shower. A May- pole, bearing many rainbow colored streamers, centered the table. The winding of these by the guests to Victrola music made a very pretty picture and revealed to the honored guest a number of lovely gifts that had been concealed in the streamers. Yellow and white were the colors used in the dainty luncheon'served. The small tables: were each centered with a pretty bouquet of marquerites. The hostesses were assisted in serving by their daughters, Miss Elizabeth Ann Rose, and Miss Virginia Cayou. Guests included the teachers from the high school and grades. Musical numbers by the guests and on tho Victrola added to the enjoyment of the happy evening. The bride to be received many telegrams of congrat- ulations during the evening. CURRENT EVENTS CLUB MET Mrs, Obert Olson of Riverview was hostess to the regular meeting of the Current Events club this week. A Mother's day program followed the regular roll call responses of cur- rent events. “Present Day Women” was the subject of a paper by Mrs. D._J. McGillis. Mrs. G. M, Register .talked on “American Women in Art.” Mesdames J. A. Larson, A. J. Arnot and J. P. French gave a de- lightful musical program.
