F. um, Chairman of the Farmers Consumers League, filed. with the Senate Agriculture Committee a protest against the Vetter-Haugen measure and requested consideration for the Curtis-Aswell Bill which would provide for a national farm tuarketing system owned and — con- trolled by the fariners themselves. Mr. Yoakum said the gondition of |the farmer was “deplorable.” If the Congress believes, he said, in the enactment of “such destruction bills asthe Vetter-Haugen bill which bills are wholly in the interest of the dealers, there is a sorry day ahead of those who support them.” Enactment of the Vetter-Haugen bill presents the only means of re- lief for the farmers possible for this session of Congress, Senator Magnus Rust, Fi Johnson, Farmer-Labor,.
