Y ' ¢ 4 THE BISMARCK TRIBUNE ; Junior Class at High School to Give Play It has been, decided that the jun- ior class at the Bismarck High School will present the play, “Old Days in Dixie” either the first or the second week of April, the exact date being as yet undetermined. The play, written by Walter Ben Hare, will be coached by Miss Bang- hild Dahl and Miss Winifred Robert- son, It is somewhat different from the usual type, involving — cos- tuming, entr’actes, cte. Tryouts for the cast will be held shortly after the examination period is over, The Delphian Society will meet at the McKenzie Hotel tomorrow, Fri- day, at 9:30 A. M., with Mrs, J. B. Smith acting as chairman. The gen- eral topic for discussion will be, “The English Dramatists of the Re- storation and the Eighteenth Cen- tury.” The following text reports will be presented: . Army and other songs were sung after the suppér, and contests, both story telling and athletic, were conducted. Dancing old-fashioned | colombal dances, Virginia Reel, quadrilles, rye waltz, ete., to the accompaniment of accordion music was one of the de- ,lightful features of the entertain- ment, which was somewhat of a George Washington affair. The evening’s entertainment cared for by a committee consisting of Mrs. Inez Gallahan, Mrs. Spencer Boise, and Mrs. R. Hitchcock, with Mrs, John Bowers in charge of the supper. PAN-HELLENIC LUNCHEON HELD At the Pan-Hellenic luncheon held this noon at the McKenzie Hotel, Mrs. A. G. Sorlic, wife of Governor Sorlie, responded with a brief ad- dress to the welcome extended by the chairman, Miss Esther Staley. Mrs. C.D. Dursema gave a reading about a little Italian boy; and various North Dakota, university, and soror- ity songs were sung. Mrs, Mell E, Pollard, Miss Ethel Pollard, and Miss Gwendolyn Welch constituted the committee in charge CLUB TO ME of the program. WEDNESDAY STUDY CLUB MEETS The Wednesday Study Club met yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. W. E. Lahr, who presented a paper on Bolshevism in America— Origin and Growth, Topics in brief dance was held especially for the entertainment of members of the leg- islature and their wives and friends. Many Mandan Sons and Daughters of Norway were also present. ®0ld-fashioned square dances were a feature of the evening's fun. Antone Nelson, P. D. Kebsgard and Hanson comprised the commit- in charge of the entertainment. Music was furnished by Al. Gaplin’s five-piece orchestra. BURKE TALKS TO “HI Y” a BOYS Judge John Burke of the Supreme Court took the “Hi Y” boys on a trip through the United States Treasury Building last Monday evening, which was greatly enjoyed by the members of the club. The meeting was held in the Episcopal Parish House, Discussion on parliamentary pro- cedure will be resumed next Monday with the return of Mr. C. C. Con- verse. JUDGE “PEP” MEETING AT HIGH SCHOOL Opening exercises at the Bismarck High School this morning were de- voted te a “Pep” meeting in which new yells for Saturday’s game with Dickinson were tried ott. Cheer leaders assembled the students at the front of the room to get more: unity in the cheering, and found that plan quite successful. SURPRISE WITH BIRTHDAY PAR- TY A number of Mrs. Charles Fisher's friends surprised her last evening with a birthday party at her home, and presented her with a pretty pearl necklace and numerous other gifts.
