Is it the quality that should be cultivat- ed at the expense of all others? When’ we teach our girls Latin ‘and Mathematics, are we, instead of ed- ucating them properly as. we think, really destroying that important quality of charm? These are some of the questions that confronted Austin Mason, leading man of “The Charm School,” to be given at the City Auditorium on Thursday even- ing, January 29, by the Junior Play- maker\ organization of Bismarck High School. AT THE CAPITOL Douglas Fairbanks, in the most Amazing and spectacular screen pro- duction yet known to the world, “The Thief of Bagdad,” at the Cap- itol Theatre tonight. So much has been written of the astonishing and astounding occurrences depicted in this picture, that perhaps not enough has been written about the charm- ingly romantic love story of the Thief and the Princess. It is said that the famous Doug has never made love more ardently than in the scenes with the Princess. Hav- ing first climbed up the Magic Rope to reach the Harem and, chnstened by love, he reveals to her the fact that he is in reality an imposter. Julanne Johnston, who impersonates the Princess, is one of the most beautiful leading women Mr. F banks has played opposite to in long career as a screen star. She brings to the role added grace and charm, gained through her experi ence as one of the famous Morgan Dancers. Some of the outstanding features are the Magic Carpet, on which the Thief and the Princess soar over the housetops and into the sky; The Winged Horse, mounted on which the Thief dashes into and through the clouds; The Miraculous Seed which, when thrown on the | ground, creates a huge army from nothingn, The Forest of Enchant- ed Trees; the Cloak of Invisibility, which the Thief uses to cover him- self and the Princess so that they may escape the soldiers of the Mon- gol Prince; and yet aside from all these wonders, which no one would heretofore have thought possible on the screen, there will be found the jliving dragon in the Marvelous Val- ley of Monsters, The Crystal Realm eneath the sea, the Flight of the ¥| Thousand Stairs, and the astonishing Cavern of Fire. Last Poem Written The following was received from ed Thompson, who apparently ried the poem to New Zealand, Thompson thought the poem had been published. “How often in the dreary night, 1 clasp my burning hands Upon those throbbing, sleepless lids, o'er eyes like glowing brands, Forget the nasty tasting, stomach upsetting cod liver oil and give the thin, puny, underdeveloped children eCoy’s Cod Liver Oil Compound Tablets if you want to give them a gaod appetite and put pounds of good, healthy flesh on their bones.
