Judge Sveinbjorn ing talk on the Geographical History of North Dakota, giving the early acquisition of the territory by the Frénch dating back into the sixteenth century and leading up to the present boundary and the different countries that held this territory. A social hour followed, at the close of which Mrs. Stackhouse, the hos- tess, served a delightful tea. PLAYMAKERS CHANGE PLAY Due td’ the great number of parts for boys in the play “The Thirteenth Chair” and the disqualification of some of those to take part, the “Charm School” has been chosen in its place and practice will begin as soon as the play arrives. The “Charm School” when presented on the sereen, proved to be a sprightly and entertaining play and should be equally as entertaining when pre- sented on the speaking stage. CURRENT EVENTS CLUB MEETS The Current Events Club met yes- terday afternoon with Mrs. C. R. Simpson as. hostess.- Roll call was answered to by Current Events to- pies. PRESENT SORLIEN WITH GIF1 The members of the Bismarck Ju- venile Concert Band, at a meeting after the band practice last evening, presented L. S, Sorlien, director of the band, with a green gold Hamil- ton watch, Marston Gordon pre- sented the watch and briefly ex- pressed the appreciation of the band for the work which Mr. Sorlien has accomplished in so short a time. Mr. Sorlien expressed his appreciation of the gift and thanked the mem- bers of the band.
