Name Delegates To Convention At Devils Lake Mrs. C, W. Smith, secretary of the local W. C, T. U. and Mrs. J. L. Hughes were named the delegates to represent Bismarck at the state W. C. 'T, U. thirty-fifth annual conven- tion to be held in Devils Lake, Sept. 25 to 28, at the meeting held yester- day afternoon at the home of Mrs, Ralph Penner. Elaborate plans have been made 1 the entertainment of the dele- gates at Devils Lake, Committees that have been named by the Devils Lake organization to handle phases of the convention plans include these: General arrangements, bel Miller; entertainment, K. Whitcomb; reception, _Mmes. Hale, Haig and Powell; finance, Mmes. Page, Elmtre and Serumgard; , Mrs P. G, Miller; music, Neil McLean; platform, Mrs. A. foomy; postoffice, Mmes. P. 0. d and Arthur Weir, Troop 2 of the Boy Scouts of the Methodist church will meet the trains, As this co gention will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the nation- al W. ©. T. U., the opening event will be a jubilee dinner, with wel- come toasts from leading citizens of Devils Lake, and the musicians are also contributing their share to the interest of the program. - For the reception to be given the delegates at Baldwin cottage, the state headquarters at Lakewood, the Rotsry and Kiwanis clubs have pronised autos for the accommoda- tion of those who attend. Another feature will be a pageant— The Pied Piper—put on by the chil- dren of the state school for the De n compliment to the state W. Gc und under the direction of the superintendent, Mr. Burton Driggs. A very elaborate jubilee pageant is being prepared for Satur- gay night, which will be largely de- voted to the young people's work.
