This was a plan whereby our Savings Department could be made to co-operate’ in easing the load of the overhead charges of the home. His suggestion was that a deposit made in the Savings Department on the first of each month of a certain sum equivalent to one-twelfth of the total amount of the life and fire insurance premiums which would become due during the year; also of the sp- proximate amount of taxes. 2 By this method in no one month would there be an ex- ceptionally heavy call for funds and such overhead expenses would thus be spread over the entire year. During the year there would be some accumulation of interest on the deposits. In our Savings Department we compound interest quarterly. Last year quite a number of our customers carried out this suggestion and apparently found it convenient. . Per- mit us to suggest that you think this over and do likewise.
