ae WEDNESDAY, MAY 26, 1920 COUNTRY CLUB MEMORIAL DAY WITH GOLF AND DANCE, The opening of the Bismarck Country club for the 1920 season wili take place Monday afternoon. Pres- ent plans include two golf tourna- ments, dinner in the evening, to be followed by dancing. The leap year two-ball mixed four- some will start at 2:30 o'clock. The women players Will have to pick their partners from among the male mem- bership of the club and upon accept- ance by the mere males, the team names are to be turned into A. S: Bolster, chairman of the golf tourna- Ment committee. The selecting of) partners is expected to furnish almost as much fun and excitement as the playing. The grand ,Memorial day jazz tournament will commence at 10:30 in the morning. The jazz tournament is an_ innovation for the country club and under the rules players and the gallery are allowed to do everything to disconcert the person actually making the shot with the sole) exception of kicking the ball off the| tee before the shot is made. It is un-| derstood that ‘one ardent golf fan is planning to bring the fire siren with! him so that when his competitor tries | to make a difficult shot, he will let out a blast that will frighten the tiny white sphere far from its course. These jazz tournaments have been) successful in other cities and it’is ex-/ pected to furnish large quantities of © joy next Monday. All disputes arising from the jazz tourament will be settled by the tour- nament committee composed of Mr. Bolster, E. B. Cox, and 'C. W. Nichols. The committee anticipate putting in a very hard afternoon, as many of the} members are planning all sorts of in- genious devices to cause trouble to their fellow contestants. The dining room will-be open for dinner and it is planned to have a menu appropriate for the day, Ever since the new chef has assumed charge of the Country club’s food laboratory, the dining room has been | a popular eating place. The number of diners who go to the Country club for their evening dinner is coystantly increasing. The dance will end the day’s festiv- ities and the house committee com- posed of H. S. Dobler, F. E. Shepard, Mrs. F. L. Conklin and Mrs. F. A. Copelin, is making plans to present many unique novelties at this time. METHODIST CHURCH TO GIVE SPLENDID PROGRAM 4 TOMORROW AT 8 O’CLOCK Tlie Ladies’ Aid society of the Mc- Cabe Methodist church will give an entertainment in the church parlors! This applies to you “Mr. Prospective Buyer,” ‘that any time we sell you a piece of property, and you pay 100 cents on a dollar for it, we wish to have you understand that you re- ceived 101 cents value and then some. You might ask “Why so clever?” It’s easy —after 7 long years in the real estate business in the city of Bismarck, and turn- ing hundreds of thousands of dollars of real estate, we believe we are in a position to judge the value of prop- erty. Now then we hereby offer a reward of $100 in American Gold payable to the Red Cross, or any other charitable institution, if any person or persons buying from this agency for the past 7 years. can show that they can- not sell their property for more money than they paid for it. And now then I was going to suggest that I have a very beautiful residence on 4th street house of 12 rpoms; 2 bath rooms; 2 fire places, east front; beautiful shade trees; corner lot; nice garage, and it has one of the best hot water heating plants in the city of Bismarck, and near churches and schools. descriptive writ woud really call this a beauti. ful place, but as I do not wish to overestimate or exaggerate I will simply call this a very desirable home. and it is cer- tainly a thing of beauty, and some people say a thing of beauty is a joy forever. Now, Mr. Prospective Buyer, this will bear the closest investigation, but let me state that no curi- osity seekers are invited. The purchase price of this beauti- ful palatial home is only $8500; $1500 or more cash. and terms to suit purchaser.
