At the recent national convention of the legion provision was made in the constitution for the organization of a women’s auxilliary to be known 8 Auxiliary of the American Legion” and limited to those enumerated above. This is the only organization that the legion offi- cially recognizes. At a meeting of Loyd Spetz post last night the former service men showed considerable interest in the formation of this auxiliary among their mothers, wives, sisters and daughters and it is expected that the interest will be crystalized in a short time in the form of a meeting of these women in the city. There is already an organization of the mothers of the former service men known as the War Mothers which has been very active in the city. It is expected that the members of this organization while still maintaining. their own society will also become members in the legion auxiliary and play an important part in its forma- tion in this city. recognized by the national convention a number of posts have been started all over the country, and it is expect- ed that in another year the auxiliary will have a Jarger membership than the legion itself. ic —— CHURCH NOTES | ”, ° ST.
