HENRY LEAVES BATH TO GIVE CHASE TO BURGLAR ABSCONDING WITH PURSE IN GOTHAM HOTEL Interrupted in her bath to find a robber immaculately. clad in white flannels absconding from her apart- ment in the Britsol hotel in ‘New York with her purse, Dr. Evangeline Bolton Henry, in Gotham to meet her hus- ‘band, Major Frank S. Henry, on his return from Francce, gave chase, treed the gentleman in white flannels in a near-by apartment, brought hotel at- taches to her aid with her cries, and stood by and identified the robber when he was hauled forth from under a bed. Whether in the meantime Dr. Henry paused to adjust her hreastpin or to make certain that her hat was on straight does not appear. The story of the adventure, as it reaches Bis- marck friends, is rather hazy in these details, but everyone who knows the popular young capital city practitioner will appreciate the circumstances sur- rounding her chase and capture of the bold, bad burglar. It came vut in police court, where Dr. Henry appeared against the rob- ‘ber-man, that he had gained entrance to her apartments through the fire es- cape. He had all out made good his get-away when Dr. Henry dashed from the bathroom in pursuit. Hoping to elude her, he ducked into the first open door that came to hand as he sped down the corridor, Dr, Henry flew after him, just in time to see the white flanners disappear under a bed. She then mounted guard over the door and summoned help. That’ was all these was to it, except Dr. Henry’s costume, of which little is said in re- ports reaching Bismarck. Major Henry arrived in New York a day or two later to claim the bride who had proven the possession of a heart as staunch and fearless as that of the warrior husband of whose ca- reer in two wars North Dakota is just- ly proud. Dr. Evangeline Bolton Henry is a daughter of Dr. Paul Bolt- on, formerly postmaster at Jamestown and one of the oldest osteopaths in the northwest. She hag practiced in Bismarck for a number of years, and is one of the capital city’s most pop- ular young matrons. OTIS SKINNER’S MATERIALIZATION OF BALZAC CHARACTER IS MASTERPIECE Bismarck witnessed a real master- piece in the materialization of Bal- zac’s famous character, Col. Philippe Bridau, in “The Honor of the Family” at the Auditorium Thursday evening. ‘As Guy Bates Post did a few weeks ego, Skinner succeeded in rousing a Bismarck audience from its proverb- ial coldness. The result was a series of curtain calls which found Skinner graciously responsive, ‘Skinner had surrounded himself with an able cast. Bismarck does not ordinarily take kindly to costume or period plays. The first act dragged, as a result, and it was not until Skin- ner invaded the scene with his spon- taneity and effervescent vitality that the audience awoke. With less an art- ist than Skinner this typical French farce of the old school would be a failure from an American standpoint. But Skinner, himself, says, “I love Bridau, the whole-souled old rogue, and no character among the many, many, many that I have played has a LOCAL MUSICIAN BRINGS HONORS BY COMPOSITIONS Bismarck Artist Has Three of His Songs Published by Large Firms Donald.
