The aged monarch was a great lover of music and frequently attended the grand opera of Vienna, of which or- ganization:Madame Zarad was one of the leading sopranos. An odd gift in the form of a buckle of Oriental work- manship, in which is set three rubies, was presented the diva by the late Queen of Rumania, who is far better known under her pen name as Car- men. That the ladies of Bismarck, may have an opportunity of viewing this rare work of art, ar- rangements have been made whereby the coat will be placed on view at Lucas store on Wednesday and Thurs- day of next week, the days that Mad- ame Zarad will sing in this city. It is quite safe to say that there is not another evening coat of similar pat- tern in the whole world. Independent of its intrinsic value, the fact that the late czarina of Russia once wore the garment and that the infamous monk, Rasputin, blessed it, adds to its his- torical importance.
