TRAIL BUILOER TO TALK AT Blt LEMMON EVENT George N. Keniston Principal Speaker at Flag-Raising for Interstate Fair Lemmon, N. D., Sept. 14—George N. Keniston, secretary of the Bismarck Commercial club and North Dakota's best known transcontinental’ trail builder, father of both the Yellow and the Red trails, and now working on the Devils Lake, Bismarck and Black Hills trail, the principal speak- er at the fl ing which will usher in the annual interstate fair here:next Tuesday. Mr. Keniston will talk on the influence of national highways on the development of the northwest. While here he .will arrange with the directors of the Devils Lake, Bismarck and Black Hills trail, which passes through Lemmon and forms a connect-} ing link in a g1 int tional high-, way extending from Winnipeg to Den- ver, for a meeting of the executive committee to be held this week in Bis- marck, where a definite plan for the financing and promotion of the trail will be worked out. D., Sept. 14.—North Dakota’s pro-rata share of the second three billion Liberty Loan bond issue will be $4,000,000, advises A. I. PIONEER MINISTER OF NORTH DAKOTA DIES AT HOME OF ILLINOIS SON Rev. Royal Jasper Kellogg, Found- er of Bowman Church, Pass- es at Age of 71 Bowman, N. D., Sept. 14.—Rev. Roy- al, Jasper Kellogg, aged 71, a pioneer Congregational minister in North Da- kota, is dead at the home of a son in Galesburg, Ill. Rev. Kellogg had been in the ministry fifty years, dur. ing a majority of which time he did pioneer missionary work. Ten years ago he came to this county from Dickinson and filed on a homestead. He freighted into Eowman from his homestead one Sunday and conducted the first religious service ever held here. ‘While living on his claim, he conducted regular services’ here and finally succeeded in building the Bow- man Congregational church and par- sonage, of which he was pastor for some time before taking a new charge in Foster county, where ‘he remained until his advancing years compelled him to give up the ministry.
